How To Change windows 7 start button

WIN7 TIP

1. Open c:\windows.now right click on windows folder and click on TAKE OWNERSHIP. If your system doesn’t have TAKEOWNERSHIP download it.

2. Now in windows folder search explorer.exe.after find it copy and paste on desktop

3. Now open RESOURCE HACKER .click on file and open explorer.exe (on desktop).

Note:

• if you don’t have resource hackers download it.
• on desktop  explorer.exe is not found select file type as allfiles.

4. After open explorer.exe select bitmap. Expand bitmap and select 6801. Under 6801 select 1033

5. Now right click on 1033 and select replace resource. After select open file with bitmap. Now select your bitmap (.bmp) image.after select image click on replace

6. Same procedure follows to 6805 and 6809.and select image which is choosen in 6801.after modification of 6801, 6805 and 6809 click on file and save it.


7. Now in windows folder explorer.exe rename as explorer.exe.bak in c:\windows folder for backup it.   
  

                                                                                                                     
8. After rename the folder copy the explorer.exe folder on desktop and paste it on c:\windows.
delete  explorer_original.exe file on desktop.

How to create a Custom Logon Screen Background on Windows 7

1.Type REGEDIT in search bar or in run (win+r)

2.Now follow the below path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS/CURRENTVERSION/AUTHENTICATION/LOGONUI/BACKGROUND

3.Now right click on background select NEW and select DWORD (32BIT) and write OEMBackground and set the value as 1.

4.Now write gpedit.msc in search bar or in run

5.Now follow the path ADMINISTRATIVE TEMPLATES/SYSTEM/LOGON. Now select ALWAYS USE CUSTOM BACKGROUND after that enable it.now click on apply and OK.

6.After that follow this path to set custom background.                                         c:\windows\system32\oobe\info\backgrounds.if your drive doesn't have info folder create in oobe folder.in info folder create backgrounds folder.  

7.In backgrounds folder paste the your image.  

   note:image name must and should be backgroundDefault and size lessthan 256kb

Change Hard Drive Icon by Registry Editor

WINDOWS7 TIP

1. Go to run (win+r) Type regedit.

2. Now follow the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/CLASSES/APPLICATIONS

3. Now right click on APPLICATIONS   and select   new   after that select key. And folder named as Explorer.exe 

4. Now right click on Explorer.exe   and select   new   than select key and   named as Drives

5. Now right click on Drives   and select   new   then select key and named as required drive letter.

Ex: suppose you set icon to C drive icon then write C in key field 

6. Under drive letter C right click and create a new key named as Default Icon (d and i are capital)

Now paste the required icon location path paste on default regedit file. Path means location of particular image include with its name

Tricks to Easily Search in Gmail

GMAIL TIP

From:

Typing from: operator along with the Email-ID give only those results which are received from the specified email address.

Example: - from:chbharat10@gmail.com

To:

Typing to: operator along with the Email-ID will help you to find all those Emails messages that you have sent to the specified email address.
Example: - to: chbharat10@gmail.com

Subject:

This will match your query with the subject of all Email messages that you have sent/received.
Example: - subject: “amma”

Label:

This will search the Email messages to which you have applied particular labels.
Example: - label: Personal

In:

After typing the in: operator just give the label name (in: personal) this will show all those Email messages which are present in that particular label but if you don’t know the label name then just type in: anywhere this will show Emails from all labels contain.

Is:

This operator shows only those Email messages that you have Read, Unread or marked as Starred.
Example: - is: unread

Before:

This will show all those Email messages that you had received before a particular date. The date you are mentioning should be in yyyy/mm/dd format.     
Example: - before: 2012/02/29

After:

This will show all those Email messages that you had received after a particular date. The date you are mentioning should be in yyyy/mm/dd format.
Example: - after: 2012/2/29

How to Speed Up the Shut down Time in Windows 7

1. Click on start menu

2. In the search box, type regedit and press Enter. (See screenshot below)

3. in regedit go to following path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control

4. In the right pane, right click on WaitToKillServiceTimeout and click on Modify. (See screenshot above)

5. Type in a number between 2000-20000 (2-20 seconds) and click on OK. (See screenshot below)

NOTE: The default time is 12000. I use 2000 (2 seconds) and have not had any problems. Your experience may vary.

6. Close regedit.

Change Welcome Log on Text Message

WINDOWW7 TIP

1. Go to c drive and follow the path  C:\Windows\System32\en-US

2. Now search for   winlogon.exe.mui

3. Right click on winlogon.exe.mui and select take owner ship

Note: if your system doesn’t have take ownership registry file download and double click on registry file

 

4. after that copy   winlogon.exe.mui   and paste it on your desktop

  

5. Now open resource hacker and go to file ----> open---->select file type as all files---àgo to desktop and select the  winlogon.exe.mui file

Note: resource hacker is software. If your system doesn’t have this software download from any website  

   

6. In the left pane of Resource Hacker, expand String Table, and 63, to 1033.

 

 7. In the right pane of 1033, replace the Welcome text in quotes at both 1002 and 1005 locations with the text you want instead (ex: WE ARE INDIANS) within quotes, then click on the Compile Script button. (See screenshot above and below).

 

8. Click on File and save, then close Resource Hacker. (See screenshot below)

 

9. Now Copy the modified winlogon.exe.mui file on your Desktop, and Paste it into the C:\Windows\System32\en-US  folder from step 1. (See screenshot below)

 

10. Now open elevated cmd prompt.it has administrative permissions.

How to open?

Click on start button and write “cmd” in search bar. After that click on run as administrator

Note: if you open cmd directly it doesn’t have admin permissions

11. After in command prompt write mcbuilder, press enter button
